I'm going to a con this year and I have a generally above average appearance (tall, slim, good genetics, etc), but I also have extremely crippling autism. I'm struggling just to make friends with other guys at cons, the idea of hooking up with a girl is well beyond anything I've ever considered. This is going to be another year of me going to a big convention alone, talking to absolutely no one at all the entire time, then going back home depressed and wondering why I ever went.

I don't doubt hookups happen at conventions like these, but I don't think that'll ever happen for me.
