This is very optimized movement (made easier by buffers and smoothing) and it somehow looks faster than it feels. There will be less of this when you're trying to jockey for stage control instead of just move.

Juri anon akuma diary day

As some of you know I do have a big problem with treating people as NPC due to a lifetime of playing single player.
World tour did not help on that regard and might made those habits worse
So today's lesson comes after being memed by a honda, I was getting 15-3 in a set until I realized I was just trying to force my way into killing him with my techniques when I could just ACTUALLY see what he was doing and counter him since I was very likely going to lose anyway. Taking the hits for one entire fight doing nothing but observing him might prevent the gap from going further.
I still lose anyway but I could at least see why. But the real revelation came afterwards. I went into another set with an akuma and around fight 5 he was caught up in all my usual tricks and was beginning to counter me.
"guess I should start adding some feints from now on since he already knows what I am going to do..." I said.
My whole take on the match changed and after a few more fights I realized something: CPUs are inmune to feints, I never used them against them. If I force myself to do feints from round one, I will never be treating my opponents as a cpu ever again.
I have noticed this in the past: my attitude always changes after a few fights but only when I was winning because I added the feints cause I wanted to keep winning. When I am losing I never do feints, so, I never consider them as sentient beings, just as obstacles to be powered through.

All warfare is deceit. I should had realized this sooner. Only a human can be fooled, and it takes a man to fool a man.

Juri anon Akuma diary day 11

Today I did ranked places and did pretty well all things considered. Master is at grasp. Then I will hopefully begin elo climbing all the way to legend, yay!

Today lesson was rather simple, I realized akuma and juri have the exact same game plan: take them to the corner and throw loop them to hell. Thats it.
I was having trouble beating shitters early on the placements until I remembered low rank players always mash on wake up, which makes them very susceptible to well timed throwloops
Grab them twice and shimmy the third and 90% chance they will either tech or DP because younglings cant take the throw.
Now instead of going for safe jump set ups mid screen I will prioritize just cornering them first and throwloopan
Also I need to remember to do feints people really fall quite a lot for the "looks like a fireball but its a punch oooh eat the dp"

After I got to master I just decided to lab a bit more to see if I could make my game more varied
Besides practicing raging demon setups, I couldnt find much i could do with modern. Maybe I should be happy just playing it like a turtle shoto with good oki setups but what I really want is to find a way to skip neutral altogether like any good shitter, I might find the answer in demon raid ex
