I don't think it has much to do with that I think its more like they want to vet, do due diligence and ensure the legitimacy of absolutely everything they sign off on members and by extension their brand getting involved with and associated with. So you end up in a position where doing all that ground work to make sure some tiny event is ok for the sake of one of your members doesn't make sense compared to an event where you a building an ongoing business relationship with a large provider who can cover most of what you need.
