1. Many vtuber fans are incredibly anxious by nature and spend too much time overthinking things. Just seeing plan B makes them think that something is wrong *right now* and that it's about to be enacted.
2. PL activity reminds them of things they don't like being reminded of, such as potential behavioral differences, yabs, PLfag groomers, and the like.
3. Sure, unless someone is giga faking their on-stream personality, they're going to be *mostly* the same person between PL and corpo, but they're still never actually completely the same person in ways that matter a lot to some people. This especially includes the model/design, which yes absolutely does matter just by itself. A specific example would be like Coni, who attracted a lot of people just because of the clown design.
4. They've seen the PL stuff play out poorly, more often than not.
5. People simply oshi/prioritize the corpo and think the plan B shows a lack of commitment to it or what have you. There's varying degrees to this obviously, some valid and some not, but it's no secret that a lot of corpo viewers are watching corpos rather than indies for a variety of reasons. Chief among them being perceived stability, which obviously PL activity runs very contrary to.
6. They're trolls trying to exacerbate the previous 4 points.

Even if they have thinly veiled reply streams to /here/ panic, where they try to calm people down and dance around corpo NDA vtuber autism while basically spell out that they aren't leaving, people are still your choice of retarded, autistic, anxious, untrusting, or with #5 and especially #6, simply uncaring and will continue doompost threadshitting anyway. Which, needless to say, still exacerbates the other groups/points. It also doesn't help that vtubers are women but even MORE menhera, and love vague doomposting about anything and everything, so even if they're dealing with shit that's completely unrelated to their vtuber activities and JUST tried reassuring people about their status as one, their poor communication will leave everything up for interpretation, and most people will choose a familiar interpretation (their vtuber activities).

Firstly that's blatant bullshit, but secondly it is less severe for them as Hololive provides an obvious value and security that small corpos such as Idol do not, i.e. letting talent make millions even if they stream once a month, so who in their right mind would ever quit.
