I think what people really forget is how successful Shiori really is, and how successful most of these girls are. Simply by being part of hololive, if they were hypothetically on their own, then they would never have done as well or had a fraction of the same success. This is a simple fact that nobody can deny without resorting to wishful thinking and retconning reality. Even ex-Niji talents are by far more popular now than they ever would have been prior to joining Nijisanji, to the point that they're sadly always defined by being ex-Niji talents, and not just talents in their own right.
So, is Shiori a failure? Absolutely not, she's having such huge success, the kind of success she could never have dreamed of before in a clearly hypothetical past.
