Japan is stupid and love limited run shit. Some Nendos are normal preorders but others get a set quantity and can "sell out" before they even start to produce them.

For those, stores get an allocated quantity of the production batch so different sites will sell out at different rates. The one good side is that it helps physical hobby shops stay in business since they get a percentage of the preorders too instead of everyone grabbing them from a single web store.
