In today's society, people like to paint things as black or white since it just becomes easier to process things. It's much easier for people to pretend 4chan is the asshole of the internet that wants to skullfuck the world as opposed to considering that now it's just a site for people to talk with other people over text anonymously that is mostly used for hobby purposes and entertainment, basically making it almost no different than something like Reddit or Twitter, which they likely use. A good example of this black/white thinking is people having opinions on videogames they've never played
