I tried running Meina model with my 6GB RTX 3060Ti and it works, but when I try to run Pony model, it doesn't work. I don't remember the exact wording, but the logs says it has something to do with medvram. I think medvram here means my graphic card has too low memory to use it? Am I correct in my assumption?
Also do you have to use the same model the Lora is trained on to get correct result? I tried using different model and the result seem to be very different.

Yep there are currently two types of models out 1.5 SD which was the previous version and SDXL which is what Pony/Animagine is and in that Pony is also completely different from regular SDXL so only LoRA trained on Pony works on Pony. Civit has filters to help you sort them if you are getting confused.

I meant 2 tags. One for the character, one for the outfit. Dataset is actually divided in half by duplicating the images. Half has full tags, half has only bare minimum character, outfit, 1girl, solo, maybe 2 other tags. So you can do 'minato aqua, minato aqua \(1st outfit\)' or you can do just 'minato aqua' and dress her up however you want.

Stable diffusion (I think this still applies to XL, but I'm not 100% sure.) works in 75 tokens blocks.
Beyond that it can sometimes forget some prompts.
But also starting a new 75 token block "resets" the priority, so the first prompt in a new block will have higher priority than the last prompt of the previous block. Sometimes. That's why there was a time when "BREAK" was used a lot.
XL generally seems to forget less on high token prompts, haven't really had issues up to 150 tokens.

That's easy to do but I'm not sure everyone is keen on doing this entire prompt to get the 1st outfit instead of just outfit name though. I agree however that schizo prompting makes things more accurate. The lora is still half-half and nothing stops anyone from prompting everything. But when you want to make her naked and still have some parts of the outfit, 2-tagging makes more sense.

Nah you can prompt characters with one word in NAI and if you want something different from the original design you just specify that, imo that should be the gold standard, but I'm not sure if you can do that with loras so you might need someone who isn't a schizo to start training models properly

Averaging things out and spitting numbers without complete accuracy: Loras are trained for about 2000 steps and take about an hour on our GPUs. An entire model would need a few million images and multiple epochs of training on those images. Let's say, 2 million images and 50 epochs as a minimum. That is already 100 million steps. For 100 million steps on our own private hardware we would need 50000 hours to train the bare minimum model like pony. That time can be reduced if we distribute the workload on multiple GPUs that are more powerful than what we have and renting them costs about 2-3$/hr for one GPU. 5 GPUs would lower it let's say 20 times, So we're left with having to pay for 2500 hours of 2$/hr time 5 GPUs. At the very least, that's 25000$.

As that other anon already explained it's pretty much that, basically model training is gonna be fucked until the bubble bursts. Right now no one wants to take the first step because you don't want to waste your cash, so you want to make sure you have good research and dataset before you start training, but you can't really be sure because testing it out is also really expensive, so you're back where you started.
I think things will get significantly better once the bubble bursts tho, the demand for computing power will drop significantly, the business will stop revolving around fishing for investors with bigger numbers, so smarter, more efficient base models will start to pop up, and if we're lucky devs will start supporting AMD properly so that people will have access to hardware that isn't horribly overpriced.

Yeah, I did it in kohya. Works well enough as long as I manually duplicate the images and halve the epochs (It should be pretty much a manual "repeat"). Didn't get to test onetrainer but I found an interesting thing in it. It has a script to install and use Zluda on AMD + Windows. Maybe if I'm not very lazy I'll boot up my old win install at some point and try out if it works there. Would be nice for the few anons that use AMD on windows to be able to train loras.

From my understanding with "whole picture" it img2img the entire image with a set denoise but only shows results in the masked area, so you need to keep the prompt close to what it originally was. With "only masked" it only works on the masked area (duh) plus surrounding "padding pixels" for context and you prompt for what you want to gen here.

yes that what the original prompt, the one with shorts is after inpaint. for the inpaint i only include "dolphin shorts" with the usual qualty tags (score_9, ...etc)

Yeah I just gen first, fix anything necessary than upscale. It gives you a bit more room in your inpainting in terms how much denoise you can use because anything that doesn't med will be fixed when you do the final upscale.
