It really felt like exploring a world that existed and operated without your input. The whole way the story works, the fact that you can beat the game and actually not get any of it, by design, is so cool.
Brilliant, brilliant game. May be my number one of all time. Demon's has that ethereal atmosphere, the dialogue and OST that I love most, but overall DS1 is something else.
I don't think it'll ever happen, but I would love that playthrough to be a thing too. And the main reason is just because Fuwawa would want to read the item descriptions. Playthroughs where people try to engage with the game's world are so much better than the ones where they just treat beating it as a challenge. Kanatan's was my favorite to watch.

Exactly, the idea of conveying so much through the item descriptions and even things like the item locations themselves was a stroke of genius. Especially combined with the structure of the game, all the hidden things - you find items that refer to characters or events and wonder what they mean, then half a dozen hours later you find something else that gives you more information. It works so well at providing an incentive for the player themselves to explore the world, discover things and consider how everything fits together. DS1 is definitely my favourite of the series, Demon's Souls is very unique and has a lot going for it but DS1 as a refinement of the first game is just incredible, everything came together perfectly. It's incredibly rare to see developers capable of doing that.

I hope they play it one day, they've talked about wanting to play a bigger variety of games and get better at them. If they want to play more action games DS1 is a perfect choice to start with, it encourages very slow and methodical play compared to the rest of the series and I think it's the type of world they'd really love to explore, especially Fuwawa. I'll have to go watch Kanata's playthorugh, I haven't actually watched many holos play it. I did watch social anxiety rabbit's playthrough, I still laugh whenever I remember her getting smashed into the ground like a pancake by Havel

It's decently but not excruciatingly long, Pegor did her playthrough in ~40 hours if I remember right. A lot of stuff is optional though, whole areas and bosses so you can shorten the game by a lot. Probably the biggest issue is that if you're a newer/less-skilled player the game expects you to grind a fair bit for upgrades and to be able to level up, which isn't something I think they'd want to do offstream.

FWMC Morning takes far longer due to selecting entries, getting mane-chan's ok, editing the pictures, even just searching and thinking about subjects to bring up on stream. If you want to minmaxx, axing FWMC Morning gives them far more time.

Even as a huge Yakuzafag, I agree. It depends on the game, some of them are better about it than others - every game has at least one way to cheese the combat but most streamers aren't exactly gameplay-oriented. It's best when the games have a simple way to be able to grind offstream. That's part of the reason I like 0 so much, it's got a very straightforward combat and upgrade system; same with the shift to turn-based in 7.

Same, not my personal favourite of the series but by far my favourite to watch streamers play. It's a perfect game to stream honestly, simple but fun combat system, two great protagonists, so much great side content 20 hours of pokecir and the story is amazing capped with a perfect ending. Especially the high of the final levels and bosses, the ending, listening to that amazing score for the credits, and then the epilogue scene... I get emotional everytime I hear those strings start.

I think there's another side to this they don't bring up as much because of their idea of not wanting to come off as too needy, particularly Fuwawa.
