The fact you have literally no control over if you actually win or lose and everyone is aware of it means everyone is way more comfortable hamming things up to 11 against each other in the pre and post match interviews which is the real draw.

It also means that while the tournament itself might take quite a long time on the day you explicitly have zero expectations to or benefit from practicing so the overall time it takes up is way less than an actual tournament like the sajam slam tekken one.
