I literally work in research. Not in the medical field, but I have published papers. I know much more about the inner workings of the scientific community than the average poster and let me tell you that the modern peer review process makes it pretty much impossible to spread blatant bullshit in the scientific community and find international acceptance for your results because you need other scientists to vouch for your results with their own reputation, not only in the peer review but also when people choose to cite your work. And citations is one of the msin scientists are measured by, because among olther things it represents trust by other scientists in the same field.

Reading a few papers that were probably published in predatory journals and haven't gotten accepted by the majority of the community doesn't make you an expert and proves absolutely nothing.

The vast majority of peer review is anonymous busywork for people who would rather be doing something else and when people cite you they just assume that you're correct and definitely would not accept any responsibility for you publishing trash. I guess it depends on how blatant the bullshit is, but you can get pretty egregious stuff past peer review.

Of course when the average internet dweller says anything along the lines of "you can't trust scientific papers" they're most likely borderline illiterate retards looking to discredit something without any particular coherent justification because it goes against their deeply held beliefs.
