My thoughts on that are that since Cover is a JP company, they may have an easier time getting permissions from JP artists and companies.
Likely, if the Magni rrat holds true, he wanted to do songs with US origins and Cover likely does not know how to deal with US copyright yet. It would explain why most all karaoke streams are unarchived across the board.
I also believe this may be the reason why Cover maybe opening the US branch to more easily get perms for Western media and placing people who are familiar with the entertainment industry.
