To give a technical explanation, what's going on here isn't that humans are still unsubscribing from the channel, everyone who was going to do that did so a while back. What's going on now is that the mass unsubbing fucked Elira's algorithm, so her stuff doesn't get recommended to new audiences. All channels automatically have subs culled from their channel continuously, so getting natural subs is needed to counteract this. Without new subs, the sub culling will continue eroding Elira's sub count continuously until some major event changes the trend's direction.
It's also possible that the mass unsubbing increased the rate of the automatic sub culling.
