I stopped watching because all I care about are multiplayers and spontaneous collabs and there hasn't been any of that since Shiraken minecraft. The dogs have been a nice breath of fresh air though.

I can't speak Japanese so no. Outside of a few meme clips Hololive begins for me with Myth's debut. To me EN has gotten better over time, the only thing I miss is more consistent streaming from Gura.

I primarily miss 2020-2021 because they were big but not as commercialized. Sure, you had merch and everything else, but nowadays it feels like everything is being done for numbers or merch shilling. I'm probably just tired of vtubers, but it feels like there's no soul left in anything they do. Also, at that time there were significantly less holomem who were just coasting, and streaming was THE thing to do, which also included a lot of collabs or spontaneous multiplayer interactions.

Myth still felt like they liked Hololive in 2021 and the merch shilling was more natural. Whatever contract disputes happened with management in 2022 not only demoralized HoloEN but really did sour their view of management. 2023 did have a slight improvement but even Gura has implied things have gotten worse since 2021.

Yeah, I have this view as well that nothing actually changed with them, when I watch them they are just as energetic and happy as they have always been, its just that the whole vtubing, vtuber groups and companies are not as new as it was to me back then and I no longer have that "wow" factor back when I first saw those first hololive clips like 5 years ago.
