Every corpo tries to astroturf in one way or another, and NEXAS has been posted here for a long time now, ever since the models were being revealed. And it's only recently that it's gained some traction, for all the wrong reasons, so it's failed.

I don't really buy into the boogeyman, "ooooh they're trying to control us". It's like the holofags saying Beryl was astroturfed when in reality, she did have genuine fans.

If you see a lot of really positive opinions around some 1view or on the contrary, if they get really defensive about criticism, then it's likely self-posting to generate interest. Which is 100% a legitimate tactic when we're all anonymous, because it could just as easily be a devoted fan. I can think of one corpo who actually astroturfed /here/: Joshiko Productions, the /wvt/ corpo. I want to say NEXAS is similar, but fuck if they've done a bad job at PR.
What I'm trying to say is, it doesn't matter if they're self-posting, as long as it generates good discussions and a healthy community.
