Would it be plausible to make mukbang videos as a vtuber if people can't actually see you eating your food? I mean I could do a hand cam of me eating the food, but people wouldn't actually see me taking bites or anything, just the food slowly being consumed in my hands. Mama Ubume here. I have a similar thing in the pipeline. Here’s how I’m planning on executing it.

1. Find a game where you can customize your avatar and where your character can eat food. Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, whatever. I’m picking ACNH.

2. Make your avatar look as close to your vtuber model as possible. So, for me, it’s a blue kimono, blue skin, grey/black bun, very simple.

3. Make a virtual set: ideally, a kitchen and a dining room type of space.

4. Make a bunch of food in the game. This could be a virtual cooking stream in and of itself. It could be the prelude to the mukbang.

5. Have a virtual mukbang where your character eats the food. Don’t rush through the dialogue boxes or the sound effects. Pause between “bites.”

6. It’s more than a little cringe, but, you can make the food IRL and have water ready and such so you can pretend to eat along with your character and make the relevant sound effects. You can also pretend to describe the food, e.g. “This stew is so hot! I need to give it a second to cool down. Wow, the carrots are so soft.” Etc.

Last week, UWOSLAB let an AI make food and it wasn’t really a mukbang as much as it was a cooking stream. We didn’t actually see him eat anything (fork in mouth) but, it was really popular because he got a ton of ingredients in advance, allowing for the AI to create recipes the audience wouldn’t have thought of making, like candied kielbasa.

UWOSLAB caught people’s attention because he was actually showing the cooking on stream, he was making weird stuff, and there was a high level of audience interaction. Most of us don’t have the streaming setup he has, or the budget for that sort of project. But, we can still emulate that success by focusing on those three core elements:

- visual spectacle
- novelty
- audience participation

For instance, it would not be too difficult to set up a fast food “restaurant” in ACNH, make a bunch of plates of fries to decorate the tables and have a fries party (Google it). That’s the visual spectacle.

Make hundreds of plates of fries in game and set them down in red or yellow gift bags for visitors to pick up. Clickbait the title with something like “Eating 420 Plates of Fries With my Viewers, on Stream.” Novelty.

Open the gates to your island via a Dodo code and let in other vtubers, as well as viewers, to let them eat fries with you and explore your island. Viewer participation.

Figure out, for starters, the following before you design your model.

1. What is your niche? What are you going to be streaming?

For instance, JohannTheButcher streams a lot of horror stuff. Therefore, he has VTuber aesthetic that goes with horror.

2. Are you going to be streaming using a male, female, or other type of design? Are you going to be using a voice changer? Are you going to be a normal human, semi-human, or fully non-human?

I picked female avatar, because I didn’t want to use a voice changer, and didn’t want to pretend to be a man online. I just went with what I already am IRL. I would strongly recommend just picking whatever matches your IRL gender presentation. This isn’t to say you can’t act as another gender — but it adds another level of difficulty to streaming you don’t seem up for yet.

3. Are you going to be an 18+ content creator or not?

This does influence model design. I wouldn’t recommend playing a succubus if you weren’t a lewdtuber, for instance.

People tend to want to watch a specific type of content. Most of my viewers want retro style horror games. When I deviate from that, I get a lower CCV. It makes sense to specialize in something to start.

Imagine you were a fan of a show like…Parks and Recreation. And there’s an episode that doesn’t feature the same tone and themes of the show, or the same characters. You’d probably be confused at best, annoyed at worst. The same goes for streaming. People need to have something they can expect from your streams in terms of content and general tone. Variety streaming random games is a really hard sell. Why would someone keep watching you vs. just watching someone random?

Normal human girl is extremely easy to make in VRoid. There are lots of assets built into the base program. I don’t use any custom assets except my model’s textures, which are just monochrome so I can more easily add my ghostly effect in OBS, using color correction settings to add a blue filter and to reduce the opacity.

It’s perfectly fine not to make lewd content. I would recommend not making a super sexy model unless you’re planning on making lewd content in that case.

If you’re doing this as a way to be liked and praised, you need to do things people will like and praise. This means creating for an audience, rather than just creating for yourself. Throughout all your posts, you talk down about yourself, say you can’t do certain things — you can’t stream games consistently, you can’t design a model. If you don’t believe in yourself, why should we?

We can’t hold your hand through this. At the end of the day, you have to be willing to take the plunge and start the journey. But, you have to be your own vieweroshi before you can expect anyone else to make them your kamioshi.

I happen to be a decent programmer and developer and am wondering if people will want to collab and learn to make a game for the memes with me as the teacher.
The collab will consists of an 2hour class through discord screen share and the participants are expected to follow along learning how to code. There will be random call outs as in "ELLIOT STOP EATTING FOOD IN CLASS!" Students are encouraged to piss off the teacher.
Afterwards the participants will engage in a friendly competition (1hour long probably) to make a game using what they learned and chat will vote on who has the best game. This is entirely meant to be shitposty and to engage the participants to show off their creativity.
They are expected to do screen share so I can pop in and bug them during the competition phase. (Just like cooking competitions.)

There are two approaches that mainly resolve this, the first one is that if you want to catch passing by chatters you need to be already commenting on something, you do not get a chatter when there is silence, at most they will randomly say things that lead to no real reaction from you because they are sufficiently "engaged" with the play at hand that is going on, and these audiences commonly dont enjoy commentary on their gameplay or whatever. Now, you also those passing by aspies that might always say things to "declare" that thry arrived, like billy does with his "man kissing" and similar, but they are not real audience.
The second one is, if you are talking about something, it is always easier to also form part of that pre-existing conversation by giving your piece of mind on such things or providing with extra bits for the streamer, a chatter loves when they can hive you something else to fulfill your ideas and build up with you the stream and the ongoing narration.
Also, if you are constantly destroying your mental by checking the viewer list instead of the chat, you will find out that lurkers will get creeped out because they never wsnt to get called out, and those who chat will feel less included because you will be always trying to catch the attention of newcomers, rather than letting the consistent ones stay entertained.

Now, the part that you can also consider as important, is the one found not in the stream itself but rather in the vods, because more than once you will find out about that you have viewers you never heard of before supporting you because they engage with the vods rather than the streams (as they might be able to catch you online, but like you enough to digest something that will never include them actively) and, if you disservice them by having whole sections where nothing is really said, your ability to give them something to chew on and to find themselves engaged in will be hugely affected, as its obvious that you wont be giving what the aberage second monitor viewer wants by being so silent.

Now, this also made realize that there are certain formulas which do never need to be fully talking, as it might happen with dancers like cabu, because by doing so the performance that they will be putting will be reduced by merely removing the focus of their actions, but this is partially not applicable because the question seems to indicate that you can always be talking, so that is also something to take into account...
