Catching up on the MH vod and it's just sorta...bizarre to see how Biboo acts while playing the game sometimes, compared to basically every other action game we've seen her play.

She has to actually be prepared to hunt and the monsters can really beat the shit out of you if you're not ready to outlast them.

Believe it or not, you're allowed to call the monster an annoying cock sucking piece of shit because of the way it fights. I think this is fair in all games, but she's obviously way more chilled out when she's fighting bosses in other action games compared to MH. Those times where she's panicking or coming across annoyed? I'd say that's just part of the MH experience. I know what you mean, though, she's a lot more "defenseless" with this game.

While true for the Soulslikes, I'd argue DMC has at least similarly demanding inputs and way more buffering or APM requirements, and she was also way more chilled out even from the start of that series - and that was with being a DMC newcomer, compared to being a MH veteran who should be used to be this different gameplay style.

I also think DMC made it easier to pick up on enemy/boss patterns. MH monsters are flailing around like assholes and doing a bunch of crazy shit during the hunts, so I get why this would throw her off her game. Consider all the 1v1 boss fights in DMC that just tested her patience and pattern recognition with very specific counters.

Now compare that to Tigrex who's flailing around constantly with weird hitboxes and very obscure tells and in an environment that isn't just a flat circle arena and I can see why it would piss someone off. Combine that with MH's strict movement and significantly higher commitment to attack animations and it kinda makes sense why she's a blubbering cute mess during some of these hunts. There's also no visible health bar, so this is likely affecting her mindset as well.

IIRC MHW doesn't scale enemy HP linearly with the number of party members anyways, so 1-2 Nero deadweights aren't that big a deal as long as you don't cart out the ass. You can still use consumables and try to apply status or traps, and it's not like Biboo is going to stare at your gear and judge you with a parser like some MH autist.

Biboo, you should do some of the farm quests if you havent and set up a farm for max potions. Mandragora, honey, bitterbug, and blue mushrooms.
When you leave for a quest you want to have 2 max potion, 5 mega nutrients, and 10 mandragora. If you set mega potion on the radial menu, after using the 2, itll automatically craft another when you go to use it. So its 7 full heals thats almost instant.

The solo one. I timed out the first time, partially because I took my sweet time running around and taking in the scenery now that I'm able to play the game on not minimum settings, and partially because I hadn't touched the game in five years and couldn't remember any button prompts and also didn't use igni in combat at all like a retard.

Second time around I cleared it but was still a bit of a nailbiter. The small adds just really piss me off, especially as a gunlance with very little access to AoE moves.

Gunlance typically doesn't tenderize because shelling isn't affected by location hit values. Also, it's one of the weapons that takes two mounts to tenderize. Between needing two mounts and only seeing a boost to 50-60% of your damage it makes tenderizing pretty shite.
