This thread is about vtubers that play a lot of FPS and/or compete in FPS tournaments (Vspo, etc.).
Anything goes, even if it's not related to an FPS stream.
Collabs with non-v are common so posting about the typical collab partners(CR, 芸人旅団, etc.) is also on topic.

Not him, but I doubt it.
One aspect is having knowledge of the game and the other is being able to watch all the talents to make good judgements. On the first, I doubt many masters/predators or simply someone with a well developed grasp on the game would even bother to post on this site. On the second they would have to be crossboarders.
In a sense they might be marginally better than the posters here, who neither know APEX nor watch streams over a long period of time barring their oshi and a couple surrounding figures.
Going forward to the coming V Co-op, you'll see many posters looking at the nominal ranks of players and making dumb judgements (it's already happened once in this thread), calling certain players deadweights, because these posters are lazy and don't even bother to watch clips of gameplay.

I admit i am not good at proving a point and arguing. I am master rank and do watch a lot of pros and streamers from csgo to apex. I am just trying to say there is a gap between top pros and normal pred players, even among pros there are standout players who are mechanically insane and make a lot of smart little micro plays like ras, euriece, genburten, naughty and etc. There are less mechanically insane players but more well rounded like sweet and templex, they are really good at making good decisions and igl. You learn a lot like how to engage fights cleanly from watching them.

>>7312592
I don't like calling people deadweights but euriece's teammates in cr cup is pretty bad. They cannot defend a push without someone dieing instantly, cannot execute properly like constant misplaced dome probably due to language barrier. I watched amatsuki a few times but was never that impressed, good aim and decent movement but never seems to make smart plays imo. I admit i was surprised when he got recruited to cr but he is not at the same level compared to other cr members like mondo and cpt.

Sorry for being offtopic, i am just an apex autist. I do adjust my expectations when watching chuubas, cute girls doing cute things is enough when watching chuubas.

This is true for basically every competitive game. Whether that's Apex, league, chess, or whatever FotM card game is out there. The gap between "bad" and "decent" players is actually usually fairly small, and mostly comes down to understanding basic game mechanics and axioms of the game. Most games have that, one or two bits of simple info that completely change the way you play and make you way stronger than the scrubs. But as you go higher, the criteria change and the relative ratios of strength become increasingly broad. If your skill was a numerical value, the difference between a player with 10 skill and 20 skill is 100%, but the difference between a player of 100 skill and 110 skill is only 10%, despite the gap being the same. To stand out among the crowd and rise in rank, players at the top need to be vastly better than the players just preceding them. Which is made far harder once everyone has the requisite game knowledge, strategic info, character mastery, and mechanical skills. Skill expression at the toppest of ranks really comes down to two things. Ungodly mechanics, and/or the ability to predict enemy movements with limited info and intuitive risk assessment.

I'd agree with most of this list, from what we saw last time the best teams are gonna be ones with 2 decent players + 1 average player. Problem with pute's team is that they don't really have anyone that can really shot call. I'd have them trade places with sumire's team here as Nazuna is actually a shotcaller type. I'd also swap Meika and Pakael's teams as I think Pakael can go off. I think you are underestimating Shiina's team though, Yomi is pretty good and Setomiya is a cheap Gib pickup. I don't think Hal's that stupid to not understand that ability to grind ranks does not directly convert to skill level.

>As for tournaments
Yes, I took these into consideration when I concluded my opinion on Astels points. Astel performed poorly in CR not only because of weak team, but also because of better competition. He wasn't able to do anything every time when a pred 1v3'd his entire team.

Because people who need courage don't usually ask first.

This is a problem with rank grinding - Matsuri is clearly not Master. People like Kuzuha or Kanae would completely crush her, and they are not Masters. And they performed even better than Astel quite a lot of times during previous tournaments. Hence my conclusion of 8 points to Astel.

Sorry but if you think he should be 8 pt (same as a dia2/1) it's just hard to take your opinion seriously. I can only assume you haven't watched him much.
> Astel performed poorly in CR not only because of weak team, but also because of better competition.
Yes, the other teams were better, hence his team didn't do well. Obviously he isn't on par with high tier preds or pro gamers (who were present in most cr cup teams), not sure how that would put him below other masters. Noah, Hinano, Sumire etc. were all paired with a god tier pred so obviously their team would do better than Astel's (and part of the reason is the -2 for girls).

Well, you definitely have to be skilled, but you can actually reach a rank that is higher than your skill level by this simple formula:
1. Get at least 1 kill or even just a good amount of damage.
2. Survive as long as you can. Run away from stronger players, hide behind the circle most of the time, snipe enemies from afar.
3. When hiding is not possible anymore, try to 3'rd party or at least sneak attack.

I've seen a lot of people use this formula to grind their ranks. Btw, Astel used it quite a bit too.

So it sounds like your problem is less with Astel being worth 10 points but more that there are other people who are clearly more valuable than they are worth. I would agree Kanae should be worth more points.

Not really. My problem is that everyone should be judged by their actual skill level.

>> No.7395836

>>7394017
Gonna stick to just the players in VSaikyou + ones that I think are cute because that's already way too many.

From Strongest to Weakest:
Nijisanji: Bora, Chihiro/Kanae, Kuzuha/Naraka, and then some combination of Ibrahim, Ratna, Ex Albio, Setomiya. Bora is cute and definitely the strongest both in a solo and tournament setting. The new NijiEN girl, Selen, seems pretty good solo but we'll have to see, also she seems very nervous so who knows how she'll do in a tournament. Chihiro is the face of Apex gremlinhood but she's definitely stronger solo than tournament although she has been improving. Kanae is quite strong if he isn't fucking around, but he's usually fucking around. Kuzuha is very well known for his Apex streams as well.

Hololive:
Astel, Izuru, Temma, Towa, Matsuri, Rikka, and the rest. Astel rather infamously did an endurance solo to master and although he struggles in team play he can solo his way to victory as he did in Kagayaki Cup. Towa plays in a lot of tournaments and suffers from nerves but is a valuable team player for her points. Matsuri though being a Master plays more like a low Daiya/High Plat with her movement and aim although she is good for team atmosphere.

774 (and Leona because I feel like it)
Uge, Met, Leona, Wat, Ran
Uge is a Master (although a relatively weaker one) which makes her better than the others by default. Met is cute and decent at the game although she is still relatively new to tournaments. Leona is cute but is basically a Caustic-only player.

Vspo:
Noah, Hinano, Qpi, Sumire, Nose, and then the rest are all more or less in the same bracket (read: I don't watch enough of them to make a proper evaluation). Noah is probably the strongest (and cutest) Vspo although Hinano is also very good, and both have lots of tournament experience. Qpi is also a good player but doesn't really play in the CR Cup setting as much. Sumire is the weakest of the Vspo Masters but still a very reliable and solid player. Nose is a filthy NEET. I think Nazuna could be as good as her sister if she actually liked playing Apex and grinded it.

You reek of newfaggotry. CR cup is a fucking showmatch, a PR cup. They are playing it for fun not to actually be pro players or for money. These vtubers aren't tryhards or thinking about the game every single day unlike uruca they dont strive to actually be the best in the game. They don't care about shit like heal off or getting 3rd partied so you can stop backseating. Also pute is quite the retard anyways so you ought to tune out if youre looking for high level apex

so simps and stans saying their streamer is good at the game. Got it. Kanae is only a casual master at best he hasn't played in an actual pro lobby where 14 teams are alive at ring 4 with everyone being similar skilled that can beam 100s. Ranked and competitive is very different.

CR cup is a show match. I went to check who his teammates were in previous CR cups because you mentioned playing with pros.
1 - Admin, Kamito
2 - Chihiro, Kuzuha
3 - Kuzuha, Soraru
4 - Chihiro, Kuzuha
5- Kuzuha, Vodka
6 - Ras, Seto Miyako
To my knowledge, only Ras is a current pro player among all his previous teammates.
His other teammates are vtubers, streamers, utaite.
Pro competitive level is definitely different from just Ranked

Not being personally impressed is fine, but to imply he didn't deserve to enter CR is a big stretch and it suggests that because you watch pros all the time your judgement is warped by unrealistic expectations for players that aren't in the world's top 10 or can't kill half the a pub lobby or something

I'd say as a general thing there's an overall underestimation of what the lower teams are capable of. I won't say who I'm thinking of specifically because I want to see how opinions change over the next two weeks.
I'm not sure of your assessment of Yomi herself, but I am leaning towards the opinion that against the rest of the teams they'll be working harder, even if they managed to get Miyako on the team.

I do the same as you, including doing clips and analysis, but you got wrong a few things
>T1
I agree, they play along and a lot, nothing surprising there
>T2
It's fine too, they are all players that are worth more points than they actually are here, Noah+Towa is a very good combination, both have a lot of tournament experience, Towa is better than Matsuri but she froze rank so she's still D4, Kanae too it's at least D1, but daddy ShibuyaHAL let's them have their shitty fake rank points, I think Noah is the only one that got her points right, those are the teams that will get most of the viewers (+Reid, but his team is not as cohesive) so I can't complain, everyone in T2 is up there just by raw skill disparity and freezing rank
>T3
This is where I disagree, Meika IS NOT going to carry a gold player, Odanobu is barely Diamond, also, Uge's team should be on T2 too, Ibrahim also freezes rank, if instead Rene they had Miyako they could even get to T1
You are sleeping on Izuru's team too, Temma is very underrated because he just started playing Apex seriously some months ago and we haven't seen a lot of him yet, all they need is some good coaching which I think they are getting (prob. Kamaneko again), Rikka is worse than Choco/RBC though
Astel's team is the hardest to evaluate, he's capable of carrying them, last vsaiko he made Aruran, a literal first-time-playing-apex into a decent player that got solo Diamond, but all depends on how much they play together and how much spagetti is spilled, this team is definitevely on par with Meika's
Pakael too was weird, he could've gone with 2 decent plat players but instead went for a Bronce and a P1 player, Genzuki is barely better than Nagao Kei and that doesn't say a lot
>T5
Yeah, Matsuri is nowhere near to any of the other Master players and has to carry that weight, at least ShibuyaHAL was kind and gave her 8 points

As for Gorilla, he's going to do the usual thing, get a "camp" comp and play the circle, he doesn't need to risk fighting other teams, it will all depend on the drop sites where he needs uncontested zones, he's no longer the vtuber Apex god he was a year ago, or worded differently, the average vtuber skill is so much higher that the skill difference is not a huge gap
Leona's team is very balanced, they just need to play as if it was a ranked match, they frooze rank a bit too but it's not too much of a difference to make it into a tangible difference
I haven't seen a lot of Uto's gameplay, but she's in a good team, she lacks tournament experience but I believe in Chi-chan

this tournament has a huge downside, it's right after the new season starts, the worst thing is the next care package only weapons, low skill players are fond to pick the spitfire because it's easy to control but that's rotating, same with the alternator, it's meta breaking with the shield shredder attachment and god knows what more changes are in, I think I heard gas-oji was getting buffs
