I’ve been doing a fleshtuber channel on the side for about two months now and it feels like it’s far more successful than vtubing channel. My vtubing channel on twitch has around 70 followers and I get 4-5 CCV. My fleshtubing channel is already up to 800+ subscribers and I have about 500 views per video after 2 months. Because of the nature of the videos I haven’t really needed to do a face reveal. I was thinking of using my vtuber model for my YouTube videos, but I feel like anime/vtubing doesn’t really mesh well with the hobby I’m covering on my YouTube channel. Also, I don’t know if it’s even feasible to go hard on my YouTube channel because each video costs me $80-200, though I do usually make a bit of that money back so it’s not as bad as it sounds. It’s an expensive hobby, which means the other YouTubers covering it can’t just spam their own videos without spending money as well. So smaller channels like mine have a chance of keeping up with bigger dogs content wise. I’m pretty sure our viewers don’t give a shit who they’re getting their content from as long as someone is providing that content. But yeah, I don’t think live streaming video games was ever for me, so I’m going to try to pivot and focus more on my YouTube channel.

theoretically yes, if you want to be animated like an old flash tweening thing it's as simple as using a bunch of rotators with the corresponding parameters/tracking
if you want a decent moving model with physics like anyone else though, you have to learn to do meshes and deformers which has a lot of parallels to 3D modeling, but it's a lot easier and straightforward if you have some animation experience.

I think networking NOW is very different than networking THEN.
Back during the early /asp/+/wvt/ days, everyone seemed to be MUCH more supportive of eachother, and they all seem to help eachother grow.
But these new current gens, they all blow up and just leave.
The girls that do well appeal to a GFE/cute girls only audience, so they refuse to collab with males or raid males, and then we have our males that are doing well like Beryl or LCOLONQ who don't raid aspies because they are either streaming at hours no one is on, or because they would rather raid someone from their niche.
There's a lack of support and group unity you could see from the previous gens, they would do constant collabs and shit together all the time, like Dennys.

I agree that it's different now, but really, I think it's because it doesn't need to be an all-inclusive support group anymore. Back then there wasn't really a "ladder" of support, you could count the number of partnered streamers discussed here on your hands. Most vtubers fell either in the 2-50 viewer range or the 1000+ viewer range, with much fewer inbetween to support up and coming streamers then there are now. In current year it makes more sense to network within your niche and make friends that way, and you're more likely to be noticed and supported by someone a little bigger than you without there being a massive divide or flatline between your viewers.
fwiw I was also too late for the "unity" era and I never networked through the threads (asp was going through arguably it's worst arc at the time), but I hung out in the communities of people that got shilled here, and thats where I got to know the people that ended up watching and supporting me when I started streaming. /asp/ is not a permenant support group, it's a place to get your footing while you find your actual community that shares the same interests and audience, if you expect people here to be both your viewers and your support you're going to only be disappointed.

That's easy for you to say when you are doing super well.
Lack of support is what kills content creators, even if they make some of the best content that will never be seen.
Support doesn't have to be a ladder, with someone above pulling someone at the bottom higher, and then they pull the next person and so and so on. That's not how it was nor it will ever be. It was just a unity thing and they all worked together, I mean hell the South Side was made for a reason. People here lack that now.
And even though you missed the unity era, you still got to network pretty well with a bunch of those early aspies/wvts. Now its impossible for us to ever get to know any of them unless we grow, and even then I don't see our biggest vtubers ever interact with any of the older gens.

Would twitch really be the best place for me to stream? I was considering streaming to YouTube because I'd like to upload videos too and I really like how memberships have their own section for streams and content, but twitch seems like the better option for things like networking and growth in general. I really don't like twitch "culture", i hate the ads, and the people who run the site. I also wouldn't want to split my audience and force them to go to different websites when I could have everything in one place and send out easy stream notifications compared to twitch.
