Not really insofar as they keep their brands separate. VSPO is already #2 in Japan (they have just started to beat out Niji), but there's no one Brave corpo in the east, so it doesn't make sense to talk about Brave being the best. I hope Brave is in it for the long game. I know this board has a goldfish memory but I honestly think that's why NijiEN attracted a lot of hype - for the time period they debuted in they were throwing decent investment into the debuts and had a really slick and polished format for the time (compared to the standard older Holo/Niji method), and debuting a lot of waves to the same standard. The momentum only really let up when the initial AR Live cancellation happened, but they did quite a bit to raise the bar.
At some point the initial investment starts to run dry and the real measure of the corp is how it handles things when the resources get thin.

NijiEN's strategy did work, from mid 2021 to end of 2022, they were heads and above everyone else, they easily surpassed and outlasted corpos that had been in the game longer like Tsunderia and Wactor. Only yabs and mismangement killed them. The fact Brave are trying to follow NijiEN's playbook for getting big except with girls only and maybe learning from their mistakes is why I think they may succeed and get #2 soon enough. Phase is great from the top to bottom but the main thing that they don't have is capital and resources to do things like concerts, 3D and etc. which Brave Group does have everything from money to connections. In fairness, the girl's declining audience was not helped by the fact that as a wave, Ethyria was extremely forgettable. You had Elira's friends (who made damn sure to tell you early on that they knew her before they got in), you had Reimu who paired herself up with Ha Yun before jumping to Vox and then Vanta, all that was left after was Nina being the fox hag that played /vr/. That wasn't enough to carry a wave, and it felt like wasted potential in terms of designs and the people that got them (bar Nina).
I won't deny that Luxiem was the adrenaline shot that the branch badly needed, but they went out of control extremely early on. And the lack of attempts to tardwrangle the shippers or the crazies in the audience early on essentially doomed the branch.
