Restarting as an indie would give her an opportunity to publicly apologize for the black screen video, and for Doki to publicly accept that apology. Or, better still, for the two of them to jointly announce that the apology and forgiveness had already happened privately. And if she was coerced into doing the black screen, leaving Niji and becoming an indie will allow her to legally say so (although she already can legally say so if that coercion was illegal under Canadian law, because the law would supersede her NDA)

If she leaves Niji and returns as an indie, her core audience will follow her regardless of other factors - Doki and Mint have already proven that this will be the case for all of them.
