another night, another time i lay in my bed and cry because i cant be as good as someone who started a week ago. i take lessons, i try to get better at talking and someone still manages to beat me in everything i do. i try to stream for fun but seeing my viewer count at 5 max all the time and no one chatting is heartbreaking and i dont know how people do it. i dream of stardom and i know i will never reach it.

Ask for advice, don't self post. Self posting can come bite you in the ass. It got me kicked out of a friend group of people I genuinely enjoyed hanging out with because they thought I was going to leak their dms or something or hanging around me would link them back to some toxic people.
Another piece of advice is watch bigger streamers. See what they do, what you like and see if you can implement it into your own content.
If you're active in their communities, there's a good chance they might check out your streams. That's where I've gotten all my regulars. I haven't gotten any regulars here but I've had creeps that I've had to ban and schizos posting about me and skin walking me every few months.
Becoming part of the /asp/ community was one of the worst things I've done.

I think they got me, irl and ivl i've realized I only have one friend who has other people they can count on to be appreciated. Being live at a specific time of day and requiring the full attention of the streamer for all the hours they decide to stay live and viewers just have better things to do than sit there with you for the day. Recommending people to focus on a niche might not be that good after all. Imagine your niche is that you only play valorant but with the twist that you aren't a top ranking player or providing something that makes you stick out from thousands and thousands of other valorant enjoyers.

It's hard to pick a favorite. I have fun with every stream and there's always at least one or two moments that stick out to me afterward each time. I'd say my favorite as of recent would be the cooking show collab I did with codycat (#FeedCodyAndPatchey). Reviewing user submitted food was great fun and gave a lot for us to talk about/riff off of, cody and I have a very similar sense of humor and when rewatching the vod, the banter reminded me of 2016 supermega or oneyplays, which were some of the guys I grew up watching. I love all my collabs ^^

That or my most recent guerilla stream. I think I'm best when I bounce between different games rather than sticking to one per stream.

I do think there are some people out there, like a few of the aspcord mods for example, who want an "in" with new talent. I wouldn't necessarily call it grooming since it's got nothing to do with personal relationships, but that's sort of what it is.
