Getting clean drinking water on an airship is more difficult than you think. On a sea ship you can at least collect rain water in buckets and barrels. But in an airship you have a balloon blocking your water collection. Plus sometimes you fly above the clouds.

Baker-chan's ship has devised a device that collects rainwater from clouds directly. It's called a condensator. It filters the mist of clouds and condenses them with cold to form rainwater. Then the rainwater is filtered to make it drinkable. It isn't enough water to do any mass baking with but it is drinkable. Drinking water is restocked when the ship lands near fresh water.

I often think about what’s the line between a regular vtuber fanfic and worldbuilding built upon vtuber lore. Spectra’s looking for more V&U fanfic but I’ve never been good with those so maybe I’ll stick to the latter. I guess that means making whole cities and sects based on their theme instead of using said theme directly

>> No.73407708

I should watch more Spectra, I watched her Stardew stream today and that was a lot of fun.
I figure the main difference is that a more normal fanfic features the vtuber as a character directly, though there's nothing stopping one from getting deep in worldbuilding with that kind of work too.

For /jidf/ I think the people would be divided as such:
Katta - Mafia, very straightforward since Katta's lore is her being a mafia boss
Rin - Aristocracy, again, fairly straightforward since her lore of being royalty lends to her followers also being nobility.
Poko - Bandits, thieves, and other trouble-makers. Given that her fan are literally called fandits it's fairly straightforward.
Nikki - Engineers, craftsmen, builders, etc. Since she does craft streams and even had a model redesign to reflect this it only makes sense.
Roca - Musicians and Singers. As the most prominent music focused talent in Idol, and her lore being related to Rock, it's once again straightforward.
Coni - Clowns, street performers, Jesters, and other entertainers since she is our resident La Creatividad Clown girl.

For this post I'll stop here since it gets a bit more tricky since lorewise the rest of the girls don't have anything that would convert easily to real life professions or social classes/castes.

>> No.73422147

So government weighed heavily toward Rin worshippers, great guilds formed around Nikki people, cultural influence in hands of Rocafags and clussy enjoyers, and the criminal underworld is ruled by people belonging to Katta and Poko?

Not to sure how I'll go about this, but for now I'll assume that people end up worshipping chuubas depending on where in the caste system they end up.
>>73423139
I'm not quite sure, the closet that comes to mind would be the criminals that are already covered under Poko/Katta, though for slaves no one really fits all too well. Well, actually boobros come to mind when it comes to untouchables, but I will not discuss the reasons. I'm also missing other important groups, like merchants, scientists, farmers, and priests.

For scientists I think Momo could work actually, her lore is that she's an Otaku Tako, so nerdy/academic people would be drawn to her. Also there's the meta reason of her being a Biology major, which works well enough for that.
Maybe for Merchants I could go for Fuyo, since her being a Leprechaun means she's gold oriented, which sort of works.
Kai could actually work for Priests as well, since she has lore of her being a Dragon God, which could translate to viti as her followers being especially religious compared to other chuuba believers, resulting in them becoming priests.

Palestinians would be represented by by people bringing up former talents to shitpost.
>>73424821
I don't think there would be rules against interacting with other castes, but rather the different castes would be self isolating to varying degrees. Rin aristocrats would be especially isolated due to various reasons including autism, and as such the government wouldn't be all that strict.

I didn’t mention it in the writing but it’s intended to be one of the local myths of /vnug/land that allured to a time before the /vnug/ people arrived at the land. If you believe in the version where they came from space then the story could be seen as a retelling of the space people coming to the natives and giving them technology and magic far beyond their understanding and led them to their doom. The story itself’s also heavily based on the Promethean myth so that could also be seen as the natives of the pre-/vnug/ people not being pleased with what the space rodents brought with them considering what usually happened to the god in these stories afterwards
The Promethean allegory’s intentional from the start but I ended up making my own version of it as an in-universe myth both because I can’t find a fitting quote from existing works and I guess I’ve been thinking about apocalypse for a while. I guess had I been more optimistic and wanted to fit the thread’s origin more, the story would’ve been more similar to the Rainbow Crow myth

In the Rainbow Crow story, the world was plunged into a freezing cold because the creator deity thought snow into existence. When the animals discussed what to do, they decided to send the Rainbow Crow to heaven to tell god to unmake snow. Back then the Rainbow Crow’s the most beautiful bird with feathers of rainbow and the best singing voice, which it used to get god’s attention. While god’s unwilling to unmake snow (since it would kill the snow spirit) god gave the fire from the Sun to the crow and told it to bring it back to ward off the cold. During the journey back home the smoke from the fire charred the Rainbow Crow’s feather and destroyed its voice, but it managed to bring fire back and save the world. That’s why crows now have black feather and a coarse voice, but some of the original plumage remained as its iridescence
It’s also probably a story some white people made up and sold it as a native folklore

I see what you mean by "more optimistic", though it's funny the bringer of knowledge in those stories must always be punished in some way. A natural aversion toward unbound progress and change? Or just a cautionary tale about the destructive side of fire? Bit of both and other things, probably. Despite the spoiler I do like it, thanks for sharing.
