kawaii is the only established small corpo with a 7.99 regular membership (livestream + emotes) that I know of. The corpos in this list are not dying, at least not any more than this one.

I can see it being a barrier of entry for new fans because why pay almost double when the competition offers roughly the same for half of the price, it filters what could have been casual purchases in favor of big fans. You can see the effect of this already in the kawaii fanbase because people were talking about cancelling some of their least used kawaii membership in order to buy Ephemira's, and no regular customer is paying 4.99 just to use emotes. I think they are trying too hard with the moneygrabbing, it could backfire in the long run, just my two cents.

I was doing a comparison between a standard $5 member vs Kohaku's highest tier.
Koha got around 10 tier3 members on her first day and they are equivalent to 50 members on their own.
Taking into account the people who want members content and are fine with paying $8 instead of $5, you can easily outweigh any lost members who balk at tiered pricing.
But as previously mentioned, you can make any argument make logical sense but none of it matters because we don't have the data to support any of it.
