I wouldn't say this is the same as Holofes at all. Yeah Holofes is AR-like in the online broadcasts but the tech is way better, Hololive started to pull away at 3rd fes and then REALLY pulled away at 4th fes.
Hololive crowd shots are seamless with the real stage, and they do that behind the back crowd shot too.

Niji's tech superpositions their livers and places them digitally in a specific physical space then records that.
Holofes super positions the talents performance including the stage running in engine on top of the footage of the real stage. If you pay close attention to the holofes feed, you'll occasionally be able to catch glimpses of the real stage underneath the 3D recorded stage, and other times where you'll be able to see the real stage from the audience perspective and can tell that IRL it's just a 2D projection on glass

None of this practically matters for the end consumer, and I'm not trying to suggest Niji's recordings are better (Holofes is more impressive technologically). But Holofes isn't AR. The real world has no bearing on the Holofes recordings whereas if the drummer got up and stood in the middle of the stage in that Niji recording the whole thing would fuck up.
