You're right, it is very bro focused. Your voice is nice though (6-7/10?). I like the model and how it moves; you could maybe add more movement or expressions or switch to a full Live2D. Chat is too small on the screen, but otherwise the layout is nice and you get a very clear army guy theme from the full setup. Again, I'm not that interested in your game choice (preference). You could lean into the ojii-san vibes if you wanted (not sure how old you are but your voice gives me that impression)

You need to have a 3D model. VRoid Studio is the easiest way to make one. Hand tracking is possible with a Live2D model but it's more complicated. Full body tracking is possible without VR nowadays if you use XR Animator or Warudo and have a webcam. Both are continuously under development and free so try them out and see which you prefer

I chat on their streams to get to know them. Eventually, we become friendly with each other to the point I'm comfortable inviting for a collab, but if you're a vtweeter, then we'll likely never grow close.
Others socialize through discord, but that's a slower way. Twitter also works but it's even more difficult.
Depending on the game, you can just invite people you barely know. Lethal Company is an example of a low pressure game.

I try my best to parse what is and what isn't feedback that I should incorporate.

I know a lot of people complain about my model and stream layout, but I put that down as personal preference, and I accept that they're just gonna have to not like me. I trust my own vision. But if there's a negative quality that I'm not cognizant of, it's helpful to narrow it down.

Depends on what I need. If I need a meme sound, then meme sound it is (they can usually be found on YT). You can also get free sounds and such on https://pixabay.com/
For music I usually get copyright free stuff (either from dova-syndrome or whatever I find on YT also). You can only use up to about 5 seconds of copyrighted music before the copyright stuff catches you from what I remember, so keep that in mind.
Make yourself a BGM & SFX folder and save stuff you think you'll need for later.

Anybody know if it's possible to multi stream to both twitch and YouTube but in vertical format on YouTube and horizontally on twitch? Do any of you actually have a plan or is it literally "just go live" and pray that viewers stumble into you off the catalog in droves?

I love putting in effort on YouTube content because it helps me know who my audience is. I'd say my audience is a good mix of male and female viewers (women watch for longer) predominantly in their 20s, and I notice a lot of overlap with Psychicpebbles, Vinesauce, Vargskelethor (Joel), Jerma and recently DougDoug and Pewdiepie along with various other vtubers; Phase Connect seems to be more common than any other corpo among my subs, and not just Pippa oddly enough.
As far as lives go, a majority of my viewers are lurkers, and the /asp/ies who come to my streams are some of the more laid back people here. Weird thing is, as off the walls as I find myself, people regularly tell me they find my streams relaxing and some people use them to fall asleep. So that combined with who I share overlap with, tells me my primary audience prefers someone who may have an overall chiller personality but likes to splash humor or big moments throughout the streams before mellowing out again. People seem to feel comfortable sharing things with me, and I think I appeal to people who are overworked, depressed or generally stressed out who are looking for a respite from their problems. I think that's probably true for most streamers though.
Half my audience watches on mobile, so I reduced the size of my overlay to make the game screen more accessible to them. I feel like I'm quite attentive to who my audience is, but also

you shouldn't be counting on other people in the /asp/ circle to do all your shilling, you should be networking with poeple outside your circle, which will attract other streamers and their viewers to follow you and see your clips/promo content you post there

for artists, and Digby is included in this because he has Blender skills, I'd recommend making fanwork for other non-/asp/ streamers you watch. Hell even a little low poly model of a chat mascot (or an animation if you really wanna get fancy) is super cool to receive, and they'll really appreciate it. you shouldn't do it with the only intent to impress/snatch follows, but a nice side effect of contributing to communities outside of this one is that they'll often contribute back, and follow/notice you more.

Didn't know pixabay had free audio, thanks for the advice. I've heard that remixing or using the same audio as popular videos can help with the algo, so I'll try something else to keep track of those. Ripping the sounds from yt videos doesn't get the same kind of algo push I think.
