they are, you can see evidence because these meshes all have different subdivision.

However, they all follow an "on model" style which is appealing to the eye. More importantly, its easier to rig things consistently if you use a base mesh.

This way rather than sculpting something any old way, having to make the lower poly version, then rig that low poly version for vtubing, you start with a base mesh that is already rigged for vtubing and make it unique.
