I’m third gen Taiwanese-American! Japanese culture had and has a huge influence on Taiwan.

I do traditional East Asian crafting as well, like Kumihimo. You know the braids wrapped around the katana? Those things. That’s what I make for fun on the side.

I try to engage in my culture in health ways, which is why I learned hanafuda and mahjong during the pandemic. I learned Kumihimo to keep my hands busy.

I don’t speak Chinese or Japanese unfortunately, which is luckily an extremely solvable problem.
