I think it's deterministic as long as it's trying to replicate something that also used xformers after an update they did, but again, I am an AMD user so I'm not entirely sure. That makes sense to me, that's my read on them too.1.5 had a ridiculously low hit rate for me when I was last prompting so I was burnt out on it, but so far XL isn't really doing it for me either.

The XL model that looks the least bad for base gens is GhostXL.
AnythingXL is decent too but extremely flat.

Artists (either in prompts or as lora) can definitely help but also you can get something that is imo a fair bit nicer looking just changing up the prompt structure and negatives slightly.
In general I find you don't need to use nearly as many negatives in the XL models, save them for if there's something stubborn that's clearly getting in the way. Better to put what you do want in the positives. I also don't usually put the CFG scale that high so you might want to experiment a little there. I don't have the okayu lora so it looks nothing like her but just as an example making some small changes to yours:

XL is way, WAY better at inpainting small details. And much better at hands, too.
1/2 inpaints in XL and you're done. On 1.5 it would take 4/5 if you're lucky.

What you can do is gen in 1.5, upscale and inpaint in XL, then go back to 1.5 and do an IMG2IMG with controlnet to reel the style back in.

Hmm, that doesn't sound too dissimilar to my workflow on 1.5 a few motnhs back. I would prompt with one model, swap to another model in img2img to fix the details and colors and then inpaint. It took quite a long time though but maybe XL inpainting would make it smoother.

Word. Yeah putting them together I think there's probably too much of a contrast to be good. To be more exact a third of the outputs are Nekomix and the rest are Pekomix. Nekomix is pretty much the improved/better model so I'm not sure how much it will shine through with that much Pekomix involved in the training data.

I never think about what the model knows or doesn't know. it wasn't trained on NLP but it will provide an output if prompted with it even if trained on just tags. it makes more sense to me to have it as "by x" or "in the style of x" but feel free to use them however you want. I use cosine without any restarts. I just let the unet lr slowly decay over time from 0.0002.

This gets added by the gui in the script, I never input anything for it in the box and just leave it blank.
Having it be the same number as the number of epochs means it will go down and reach its minimum right when the training ends. The tensorboard lr is just a slope going down, reaching about 5-e5 at 600 steps and 1-e6 at 800 for unet.
Not sure about fp8, things like this are foreign to me as my environment is too fickle to deal with a kohya script update. I'm on a december version. Can't even use W8bit.
The only debug would be to run the script exactly as I posted it on the rentry, same dim ,same alpha, same fp16, while changing just the pink stuff. if that doesn't work either, then it's just busted.

I mean there is a "Print training command" button or something like that. No reason not to do it considering it can be used "as-is". I trained some loras just with the command as I had everything sorted out already and was too lazy to start the gui for no reason. Cleaned it a bit, but 3/4ths of the way I found out Rgthree has a better reroute that can make straight lines, however it was not compatible with the previous reroutes so I didn't bother to swap all of them.
I would still need to add some form of wildcards, danbooru loader, and (maybe) and x/y plot but I already spent too much time on this.

I am on Pixai, and I prefer its interface over civitai. I use both, as I found out that combining a civitai lora with a pixai lora can give some pretty accurate results. I have been interested in pony diffusion and xl models, but the size of the images coming out of pony diffusion, the general cost and the lack of controlnet/composition/reference is a big put-off. That said, and if it can pull off gangbangs, it feels very tempting.
