Seeing how hard a company's poor direction gimps their talents is almost cruel in hindsight.
It's like having the applicants seal their fate to irrelevant 2view-dom the moment they sign to a group with the wrong gameplan, which is all of them.

Maybe much of it comes from them deferring to their company foremost rather than trusting themselves to go out their group and explore, or not being given the okay to do such a thing.
Then over time they get complacent/stagnate/rot/feel hopeless and trapped.
No amount of much-touted corporate 'benefits' like help with merch or editing can make up for starving them of (mental) space and freedom, which even Hololive seems still able to give.
