Mixed Collabs don't work if the talents don't have any sort of previous communication, see literally every Collab Vesper had. Or they have similar interest, see Raden and rikiichi the niji clown. In the end, these are planned days/weeks in advance. Who the fuck thinks a mixed collab can happen out of the blue? I mostly watch JP tubers w/ a bit of EN on the side. It honestly depends. HoloEN, nah not really? Rarely watched any of those collabs outside Altare and Kobo because they didn't really interest me. I watch Foobs a lot and didn't mind her collabs with Oga, but it's been a while since the last one. Oga is a chill dude. Any collabs with Roberu are funny as well but other than that in Hololive not really. NijiJP collabs I enjoy from time to time (not EN though, I can't stand the muh nijifamily shit they pander so I don't watch them). Used to be a fan of all the members in blues (ars, mayuzumi, uiha) before two of them graduated and liked their rare trio collabs. Dunno if the mixed teams in Vsai count as collabs but you get some teams like Selen/Axel/Altare and Chihiro/Ibrahim/Ratna Petit that are fun as well.
TLDR: They can be fun sometimes, just don't force it like that damage control collab between Aster and Scarle holy fuck. Most uncomfortable shit I've ever seen.

Matpat is the perfect example of what a good male collab partner would look like. He's married, has a kid, has a huge team of people who rely on him, a lot of fans watched him as a kid, he is one of the most recognizable and important youtubers, and he puts high effort into his videos and streams. All these traits lead him to being a more mature person. Not only will our unicorn audience like people like this more, but the regular audiences too.
The 8bitdrummer is also a good example. Really seiso men are better in general.

The GUN collab was kino, one of my favorite tabletop streams.
I really wish those 4 hadn't used the collabs as a "own the haters" tool. They were fun together, they just needed to not be retarded about it.

I like competitive cross gender collabs more than cooperative ones. Opportunity for bantz is higher. I like the Dead by Daylight collab than the Valorant or Apex ones. Big tournaments like the Worms Tourney or even One Night Weremag are great too.

Genuinely the Vesper/Magni/Kronii/Calli streams were super fun to watch. Also the therapy stream with Vesper and Kronii is hilarious to look back and watch. Sadly we don't get those anymore for obvious reasons, but those were some of the best
