What's going on is that Selen's firing was such a big deal and ended up being so profitable for her that the EN vTuber sphere is going through a "Me Too" moment right now where any vTuber with a beef with their corpo is speaking out, partly to try to rectify their circumstances, partly to get revenge on the corpo, and partly in the hopes of attracting views, money, and attention. It hasn't hit Hololive because Holo already went through this unstable period in Japan and cleaned up its act through 2020-2021, and in 2022-2023 they cleaned up the trash in EN as well when they got rid of Omega and replaced him with Jap.

A lot of the small corpos have been treating their employees like utter shit, refusing support and owed payments, and trapping them with unreasonable and probably illegal contracts that let them fine. HoloEN and Phase seems about the only one that doesn't actively shit on its employees (though it sure would be nice if they would do something about their psychotic fanbase).

This will probably fade out when one or more of the vTubers making these claims lies and gets caught. The claims about Idol not paying seem like they're probably false, unlike the stuff going on with V&U and Nijisanji.
