Caustic served that purpose for a bit since he was the only other fortified legend (tank role). Gibby was for camping teams outside ring and caustic for playing an established position. Take into consideration how broken caustic was that time yet he still serves as an alternative for gibby, that illustrates how good gibby is. Gibby kinda needs a rework, his kit is simply too good, just tweaking his numbers may not suffice if they can't find the sweet spot (nerfed hard = unusable, slight nerf = still good)

Gibby isn't played that much now, mostly played in comp. Which is why its difficult to balance him. I think they should just balance him for comp because no matter what, most people playing non-comp won't play him because he's not fun. Its a futile effort trying to get them to play him more.

Gibby isn't that much of a problem, it is played a lot because of the meta. The meta is slowly changing, i have been watching eu tournaments and some teams are using other team comps preferably valk, caustic and crypto with good success. I assume gibby gonna see less usage if the numbers of crypto is high. Jp scene tend to lag and follow na/eu competitive scene from behind. Bloodhound is the legend most pros want to nerf because constant wallhacks prevent lots of outplay potential.

Gib is only mandatory because he fixes bad positions and forces close range fights, also prevents easy third partying without zip/pad. His kit is just really good and allows him to be very flexible. Ideally a team doesn't need Gib if they traverse carefully(Crypto can help with this) or are capable of dealing with a fight fast enough that the threat of a third party is no longer a problem. Then again, why take that risk? Every team will just pad in to third party.

I feel that any change to the meta will be temporary without nerfing Gibraltar.

FBK does as she pleases and she just wasn't into APEX this season the way Choco has been. Maybe if Mirage gets buffed again she'll be bacl. She's also not very keen on high aggression playstyles and prefers the hide-and-seek aspect. I disagree, she just focuses more on chat interaction and trying to entertain rather than gameplay. Also sometimes she's out of shape since she doesn't have time to play a lot usually. But I do think she's stronger than her rank indicates at least mechanically. Was wondering if Hal would up her pts but looks like he didn't bother for any non masters?

Focusing on entertaining is fine and I have no issue with chat interaction but I am critical of her methods such playing herself down to chat, she'll say "muri" and then 1v3 no problem. First few streams sure but when your everyday audience already knows you're actually strong, might as well shed the act and be more natural. I'm also a bit empathic to her team mates who usually end up going in first.

That's a me thing though, just not a fan of "doushio" spam for a few seconds before wiping the enemy squad.
My personal opinion is she's not only stronger than what her rank implies but she also wants people to have lower/tempered expectations so that the payoff is greater. Legit strat.
