The thing is that whatever Mel leaked obviously had to reach another company that works with Hololive for it to get back to them.

Add in that Holo and Niji collab on a lot of work together (like the anti-bullying/slander initiative) and that Mel had IRL friends in Niji and it becomes pretty clear what happened.

Same thing happened to me with Coco. I wasn't a fervent fan or anything; I simply liked watching a lot of her streams casually. However, when she graduated, everything just felt different including other members' streams. It will happen to everyone eventually. If Pekora or Marine were to graduate tomorrow, it would be a huge blow to everyone's morale, but at the same time, I hope they do it in the next 5 years or so to start a family before their wombs completely dry up.
