I feel like yt growth comes from algo and making non-live content. If you're gonna stream to both, I'd suggest you take the advice of a big streamer I don't remember who but I remember it's big.

Stream privately to youtube just to have a vod, if you stream live to both platforms you're dividing your fanbase and algorythms will see lower numbers on both sides and think viewers aren't enjoying your content as much.

I remember in late 2020, early 2021 when everyone started vtubing it was pretty universally on youtube, but very quickly people realized why streaming on youtube sucked ass and started jumping over to twitch. even the staunchest holdouts had made the transition by the end of 2021, yet here we are in 2024 and new people still need to learn this lesson on their own instead of taking from their elder's example. for a year or two I figured "ok, whatever they'll figure it out" but at this point it's not so much a case of personal preference or some divided consensus. Every time I see a new youtube-focused vtuber show up they get shouted at about why it's a bad idea, they don't listen, and then three months later they quietly jump over when they realize everyone was telling them the truth.

It's hard and tedious because you aren't actually that entertaining. Editing your own streams puts you in the perspective of a viewer so take notes on what would make your own viewing experience of yourself better and apply them when you stream. Thats how I went from maybe 2 clippable moments per stream and hating editing to the whole stream being full of clippable moments and being unable to edit in 2x speed because you blink and you miss a free tik tok
