My problem with idol culture has always been the fans who espouse mentally ill bullshit about idols being their "girlfriends" and screech at any sort of male interaction. Good thing it's much harder to doxx of a vtuber than an idol, and as such no disgruntled fan has ever stabbed a vtuber yet.

Idols are all about improving yourself and inspiring others to do the same. Western streamers, which western vtubers built themselves around with only the thinnest veneer inspired by eastern vtubers, absolutely hate the idea of improvement. They spend all their time getting mad at others for expecting better of them and wanting everything handed to them. I'm a zoomer, and I can tell you first hand that the people I went to school with absolutely hate working hard for things, they want everything that's nice and easy handed right to them and everything else is "unfair" and an "injustice" that must be righted and railed against.
