The thing is, i dont know the actual figures but lets say ~80% of vtuber viewers are male. That percentage is significantly higher when your a wasp. Male audience generally has no issue when their waspie is collabling with another female and diverting their attention to said other female more so than chat (so long as it stays in a CGDCT or similar scenario). But to have your favorite waspie diverting their attention to another MALE more so than chat, chat (majority/all males) will have a HUGE problem with that as your viewers are basically feeling cucked right to their face when thats typically not something most people want. We can scream parasocial from the rooftops as much as we want, but that wont change the fact that this is the reality of being a wasp. If you really want to collab with males, unless you want to stagnate your growth, it would probably be best to do it right from the get go so viewers will know what to expect, or wait till your big enough to where the loss of viewers wont have as heavy of an impact

Well, yeah. That's why I say doing it from the beginning if that's the route you wanna go would probably be the best option. Of course chat wants their favorite wasp to do what makes her happy, but there's also the fact that they're watching their favorite wasp because it makes them happy to do so. Wasp wants to do what makes her happy, and viewers want to be made happy through enjoying the stream. As fucked up as it kind of sounds, it's kinda like both sides of a stream should have a mutual standpoint on the subject, as a streamer needs chat retention and growth to be successful, and chat needs the streamer to accommodate within at least a range of parameters to maintain that retention. A bit of a fucked up give and take, but if intentions are made clear from the beginning, at least your viewers wont be thrown an unexpected curveball sometime down the line causing you a loss in viewers/followers. Also, I would say as a wasp, you probably shouldn't underestimate chats affinity for their favorite wasp. As long as you've gathered some REAL serious followers, -doesn't even need to be all, even just a select dedicated loyal few- your chat will do ALOT for you, and most likely will not be a crowd of people that give no fucks in the end. Some of chat really want you to succeed, and will do whatever they can to help you get there. Make your chat genuinely happy, and you've got yourself an army pushing you to success.
