For those of you who have been in it for a few years now. How do you get through burnout? How were things when you started, and now where you stand? I've had decent success in 2 years, but I've just felt completely drained creatively lately, Tired of jumping from game to game, but afraid to commit to a niche. I've also just felt exhausted in general lately and i feel like i barely do the minimum of going live nowadays. And everytime i go live it feels like I'm trying extra hard to be entertaining which is making me less entertaining.

I still love Vtubing, and I don't see myself ever quitting. But what could I do to reignite the passion I had when i first began? I feel like i peaked when i had no expectations at first. And now that I constantly want to do better I feel like It's no longer fun and I'm not living up to my own expectations.

Sounds like you're going through the motions out of passion but you're not getting enough back from it to feel like it's worth it. Personally I've been in the same position and what I did was take a step back and see what I was getting out of streaming and what the viewers were also getting in return.

Being me is nice and the regular viewers like it when I'm being me. In the end, it's fine for streaming to just be your little hangout spot with friends, but if you want to take it further, you'll probably have to commit to some kind of project or niche whether you like it or not. I've accepted that what I'm doing now is alienating a lot of people who used to watch me in the past but were never regulars for everything else and so those people don't really matter to me. They had their fun already, so I want to have my own, you know?

The advice I gave out the other day is not to try too hard. Relax and have fun. I worry about whether I'm entertaining all the time, but it turns out even the streams where I've felt I was boring were still enjoyed. Trust that you are naturally enjoyable/entertaining

This is really solid advice, I think re-assessing what I'm getting out of it is a solid place to look at things. As far as being a place to hang out with friends though, I'm a bit conflicted. It does feel like in my small community I've made friends with almost all of my regulars. And while that's great, I do sometimes feel like I need to branch out. I highlight all of my vods though! I just have a massive backlog of streams that feels like I'll never get around to combing through and clipping. In general my recommendation is to start streaming now using a free or cheap temp model off of booth or nizima and then do a debut with your commissioned model once you've got it and it's rigged. I was actually looking for a simple nude base I could deform around the armature. The model that vroid studio generated came pre-built with a clothing layer and cuts the hands off slightly past the wrists. If I had a side reference of my character I'd be tempted to start from zero in blender and follow one of the modeling methods I've seen from two perspectives. Unfortunately. My l2d is just that and only has a front perspective so I'd be shaping the side perspective from scratch.
