There was this manga I once read that basically said that older mangaka just develop worse habits due to no one being able to correct them due to seniority or whatever. And them becoming desensitized and needing to exaggerate what made their art feel "theirs". Like that Saki mangaka that now just draws giant baloons on every busty girl instead of being tasteful and proportionate like before.
