Selen generally avoided the general non-gaming collabs, and her style didn't always mesh well with other talents. Not a knock, but I remember it being kinda awkward in things like the Phasmo collab where she didn't match up well with Finana.
My honest view is that she's good at what she does, but she's kinda like an Aqua in that she has her specific appeal, and it can mesh up with others if its the right person, but she lacked that ability to be a good general collaber like Subaru or Fillian for instance.
Also why there was so much chaos, since her fanbase didn't have much crossover with anyone else in the company, so it was easy to embrace the scorched earth path

Selen was different, for better and for worse. She's more brotuber than most male vtubers, let alone female ones. But it's also very easy to rally behind Selen and support her because she did try to do different things outside of her comfort zone. She practiced to get good at singing and she even made an onstream effort to learn Japanese, two things the rest of her peers are already better than her at. She supported fan artists like crazy and she even came up with creative community rewards every 100k subs she got. It was easy to see she was putting in tons of effort for the audience. She didn't resort to lazy gaybaiting for content, and she never did any form of fanservice intentionally. She paid with her money to give viewers what she thought they deserved, and to make the most of that chance.

It's the reason every fan spoke up the minute she got terminated. It's the reason Dragoons got up in arms. Her investment in community goodwill paid off in the end. The company does not get to reap the benefits she worked for.

In the end, she wasn't the sort of content creator the company wanted. After all, being good at singing, being cute, kissing your coworkers, and fumbling at games seems to be the niji recipe for success lmao
