I remember when I first watched Myth we went from meeting Gura who is pretty free to Ame, who had like seven rules for chat and was a lot more of a controlled experience.
She takes care of family. (controls what happens)
She takes care of pets (controls what happens)
She takes care of Cover tech (controls what happens)
She made new things (controls how they happened)
You control what happens on your stream (most of the time).
The only way I see Amelia enjoying this again is to take that controlling orb and just smashing it on the ground.
Obviously she can't just say "Fuck Perms, I'm Ame." but I think that's what it'd take.
Failing that, the one who can pull the stick from Amelia's butt will be crowned King Arthur and save the kingdom.

her tech support, while exaggerated, wasn't entirely minor either. she provided a lot of inspiration/ideas for 3d shit before the actual 3d reveal

ina filled an art niche that none of myth really had.

That rrat has never made sense because Ina had major issues with Hololive and would often tell viewers that she had terrible luck. She had over 5 months of breaks in 2022 which is a sign that she was thinking of graduation. If Omega was the original manager than Myth was furious with him since eventually Cover felt the need to hire a new EN project manager. The situation was so bad that Yagoo started attending their management meetings. There might have been a few contract issues even in 2023 but they were getting along better with management and they keep vaguely saying they are optimistic for 2024.

Most likely on her technical skills rather then streaming skills. Hololive English needed a tech support person and Cover wasn't prepared to handle talents outside of Asia. Ame had a set of skills that would remain valuable up until late 2022-2023. By 2023 Cover had everything in place and suddenly Ame's taking a step back.

I get it, she's never really vibed with alot of the traditional jp idol views that Hololive is known for. Probably the least out of arguably anyone in EN, even to this day.

But at the end of the day, the EN branch was seen as more of an experimental side project at the time over a mirror of JP but english. They wanted people who were competent streamers who had more of a general appeal to grab a completely unknown audience to them at the time, and Ame was able to prove herself with flying colors on that front. She had great banter with chat and her outgoing personality led to clips that garnered a shit ton of new fans from all sorts of places.

TL;DR: Ame might seem like a bad pick due to her general attitude clashing with the way we normally see traditional idol vtubing, but she was someone with a large amount of experience handling and setting up her own streams, while also entertaining the kind of fanbase cover was trying to go for with EN in the first place.
In retrospect she was more than perfect for what they wanted in an audition.
