Honestly I don't think the fanbase is bad, but I genuinely think Magni and Vesper's graduations caused a bit of a culture shift where they lost that brotuber side they had and never really got it back so to speak. Though maybe I'm being a bit nostalgic as a former vestie.

There was a shift but it started earlier than the graduations. Vesper's first suspension was the start. When HQ lost that 'united guild doing everything together' atmosphere they started losing the brotuber crowd. Then came Vesper's Japan arc and they sealed it with the double graduation. I cannot stress how much of a fuckup Vesper was for Holostars EN's long term success.

i think it's unironically the fault of the "brotuber" fans choosing to just drop the branch entirely instead of either sticking it out or hopping to a new StarsEN oshi. The annoying people (StarsJP fans + people who's first experience with vtubers being Tempus) were always there, but having the bros there kept the fanbase in balance from completely going crazy from the jump.
