Well, this is mostly said towards the "big" isekai, cause most of the prominent ones do something "different" at first before immediately becoming generic slop not far into it. ReZero always maintains what makes it unique, and that's entirely due to it not abandoning its primary concept while actually developing Subaru (in both good and bad ways).
To me, Subaru is unique because he's portrayed the way a "true otaku" thinks he would act in an isekai world(acts confident and says cringe stuff which charms dumb retards like emilia) but yet he STILL has all of his otaku/neet hangups which come out at the worst times. His confident demeanor breaks down all the time because he's actually a powerless dumbass who can't really DO anything other than bluster before falling apart.
This is what sets him apart and makes him phenomenal imo.

That's not at all what I said, but alright. I'm saying he's a well written and compelling protagonist with a shitload of flaws he has to contend with, and I described the reasons why he's good. Not liking him is fine, but what the author intended for the character 100% works and is executed pretty damn well.
He's incredibly likeable, if pathetic at times, and his actions ARE admirable. Or at least his determination is. He suffers infinitely more than pretty much any other isekai protagonist and is WAAAY less powerful, yet he always pushes on. Often to the point of self-abuse, tbdesu.

You good. Think a good lot of us are in that boat since they've haven't been streaming. Eight days in, still feel it but it's not as bad. The first night of the break was when the withdrawal kicked so much I cried from missing them a lot.

The little bits they did this past week like the twitter space and good night messages we got helped ease the feelings. Started to work on art in the mean time.
