More important than any of those is that the day/time you stream needs to be consistent or at least predictable. Stream three days but they need to be the same days in roughly the same timeslot. I should, as a viewer, think "Oh, its [Day]. That means, [Channel] will be on at [general time.]" Consistency matters a lot.

Streaming longer hours matters if you're trying to catch transient traffic like people from the catalog or from raids. That's because you make yourself a bigger target and give people more time to find you. Streaming for too long can degrade your on-stream performance though and obviously most of us have day-to-day obligations that require human bed times so don't overextend yourself. Stream until you can't be entertaining anymore, then stop.

Printed schedules are nice but not necessary in all cases. Use them to advertise not merely to show a plan. "Wow I've got a cool thing on [Day] and this other neat thing on [Day]!" Viewers can use it like a menu to know if there's some sort of content they're especially interested in or can get excited for. If its just a list or the same thing 5 times, who cares about reading it?

This is great advice. I've been testing a lot with timeslots and days lately and my findings line up with what this anon is saying. I used to stream for 5+ hours but what I noticed is that around hour 15, that 13-14-15 ccv would slowly become 7-8-9. I feel like about 3-4 hours is the sweet spot. I also don't feel like going far past midnight US time is great, I've noticed significant drops after that time. Of course, it depends on your audience too so ymmv.

How long have you streamed for? I think one thing that people here don't realize or talk about for some reason is that you actually do get a debut buff that WILL wear off over time.

Even for people that put very little effort into their debut, posting yourself as a new name here will get you far more interest within the first few weeks. Most of the people that will watch you when you first start streaming are people that will quickly leave you for the next new thing that they find. This is very noticeable in females. There is a pretty large group of guys that just go around trying to find new girls to "groom" but usually they lose interest within a month or two.

Don't expect to keep your starting numbers for a long period of time. Streaming is rarely a straight path always going up.

Its simple.
1) Don't engage with schizos. It doesn't take a scholar to know when somebody is baiting to cause trouble and it doesn't take 30 people replying to a single schizo to kill him to shut up and move on. It doesn't take one poindexter arguing for 300 posts with that bad faith schizo to mark the archive record and make it obvious to tourists that its a schizopost.
2) Make OC. If you're a viewer, do supportive things you like for chuubas. If you're a chuuba, post things you're working on or things you'd like to do. Ask how to do things you want to do but don't know how to make happen. I know that I and several others have offered similar advice for that.
3) Stop taking obvious schizo posts/bad faith "tier lists" etc seriously. There's no reason your mental should be harmed by some anon calling you a faggot because that anon is literally nobody. That's not an "I'm a creator and they're not so I'm better." thing, its an "I'm an anon and they're an anon and anon is nobody." thing. I don't care what anon has to say if all anon has to say is calling me names like a school yard child and you shouldn't care either.
4) Talk about things you saw on other channels/streams/content streams that you like and want to make or want to see more of.
5) Discuss things that affect vtubing and affect vtubers specifically. There are no other threads here for discussing specifically how new events affect vtubers just how they affect viewers, corporations and the specific vtuber at the epicenter of that event.

There are millions of things that can be discussed or done that aren't bickering with schizos or baitposting and none of them require yielding the thread to schizos and retreating to one of the dozens of discords.
