My main reliance is Scale Weight Norms at 1 which prevents overtraining. SWN will add two new parameters in your terminal while everything is training. Average Key Norm which is used to identify when a threshold has been reached (for SWN=1 this is usually around 0.11-0.12). Once the threshold has been reached, the training script will start scaling back keys if they become overfit. This is shown by the second parameter named "Keys Scaled".
The sweet spot from my experience is to reach the threshold and start having Scaled keys around the half point of the training, then making sure the number of keys scaled doesn't go into too high double digits (12+).
If the threshold is not reached by the end of the training, the model is undertrained, and if the scaled keys go above 15 then it means you should lower the learning rate and take it slower instead. While the end result will not be completely baked by the end of it even with 20 keys scaled, there is no point in going that hard and then having to lower lora strength to 0.8 to make it do stuff.
I already explained some of these in my "how to train loras with small datasets" rentry and you can find a script for 1.5 there. Roughly the same settings apply to XL as well but with an increase in resolution and decrease in batch size, dim 16, alpha 4, cosine, no warmup, unet lr between 0.0001 and 0.00035 (for lumi) and I train text encoder as well with 0.00004: https://rentry.org/CCC_Training

I don't know how, but it seems to work way better on NAI models than I thought, after putting the weight down to 0.8. It's still overbaked, since it's made of 32 model shots and 6 illustrations. As always, it's less baked when using EF+hll which makes it more workable while remaining decently character accurate

You probably need to increase your image collection skills. I got about 30 of Nasa from twitter, youtube, official site and so on. As for activation words, I do not recommend having just 1 word activation for a person because then you cannot turn off features or guide them. Use an auto tagger to create the captions for your images before training, especially for small/bad datasets. The more tags the less stiff it ends up being. And use Caption shuffle with Keep n captions at about 5-6 so it always has the main tags first but swaps around the order of the other tags.
Anyway, I am too tired to test her lora as well but Lemon woman is done. I'll post them both tomorrow.

I usually generate using 768 x 1024 or 768 x 1216 for SDXL models before upscaling.

Lora made using animagine as base is very poor on pony models and their variants. Lora trained on pony, I believe, is also bad on animagine.

Pony models such as autismmix has different prompting structures. They don't use "masterpiece, best quality" or any of the 1.5 modifier tags but uses "score_9, score_8_up, score_7_up, score_6_up" to set the quality. You can look it up on their civitai page for recommended structure.

For your fried image, are you using an SDXL Vae? because SD 1.5 VAE don't work on SDXL. SDXL also cannot use "Latent" to upscale or it'll also fuck up the image.

I'm wondering if this is similar to the 1.5 days. since basically all anime models were off-shoots of nai, nai was used as the base to train for anime stuff for 1.5 models for wider compatiblity. So is it better to train on the base pony compared to autism, confetti, Comrade, etc?

XL is very sensitive to negatives so try to minimize it, you generally don't need to much for it to look good. You also don't need LoRA for the basic sex stuff, it's fairly good at it (also you have nsfw in the negatives here). Other than that animagine works a lot better with artist tags (not really necessary though). Here is a list I made a while back of all the ones that work.

I'm trying out the new autism artstyles for pony LoRA and there a few art styles that I like in a grid BUT they are giving me vastly different outputs than the base image/majority.
