so you see those pink dots in the lower left? That's your resurrective power. You always get one dot from resting/respawning at a shrine, but the rest you get from executions on enemies. The other dots build up over time from each phase she beats, and it gives her an extra life. it takes like 12 deathblows to refill it so it's sort of a precious commodity. you can only use one node during a phase, so it's basically extra insurance for making it to later phases

Her death charges on the lower left don't fully refill between attempts basically.
If you pay attention to the circles, she gets one respawn per phase before it gets crossed out, but only refills part of each circle every time she takes a life off the boss, it's possible for her to keep progressing between phases and get her one allotted respawn back, but not have the charges required to actually use it.

Never played Sekiro, and genuinely how the FUCK are you supposed to beat this guy? You have to build up his dumb little bar, but if you stop for 2 seconds it goes back to nothing. He's a completely reaction-based boss, so if he decided to just wait or space a little bit you have to restart. Fuck healing, and god help you if he takes your first life, cause he has reset now.

He literally tells you how, "hesitation is defeat" is the theme of this fight. You have to stay in his grill constantly and never let up. Phase 2 is mostly about hitting all the mikiri counters since they add a ton of stagger

His posture bar obviously recharges very quickly you're right, but one of the more subtle things about the game is that the lower the enemie's HP is, the more their posture builds up/goes away. So all the small chip damage she does is also part of the fight

You're not wrong in that she needs to consistently ride his ass with very few mistakes to take lives off him, but it's the final boss of a run with a fuckton of challenge mods stacked after all.
Also you don't need to spend a ton of extra time doing the goofy run around screaming and looking for pebbles thing to heal actually, I'm pretty sure all his attacks will reach through the pebble anyways, especially once he pulls out the glock and spear
