There's a few reasons to not numberfag your own content. Firstly, when you start it usually turns out that you can't stop, and at a point you obsess over numbers so much that it takes over your content. Second reason is that marathons to raise sub numbers usually don't translate into live viewers, so raising some numbers doesn't raise them all. Lastly, getting a higher sub count doesn't give you more people who are willing to buy merch or superchat. To get those dedicated fans you need to slowly build the fanbase and have them enjoy your content for what it is.
