With a single motion she pulled her claw out of her mouth, your body being caught against her lips and torn off of the claw.

“Mmmmh, mmmmmmmmhhhhhh~!” Mococo moaned, delighting in the taste of your body. Fuwawa smiled, happy her sister was enjoying the treat so much. I personally call it whatever suits my taste at the time. The holobox locust swarm, the DD armada, the hakooshi hiveminx, whatever. It refers to the same thing; there is and has been for a long time now the concept of a "box" for corporations, especially for Hololive and to some extent(SOME; read comparatively insignificant).
What people don't know about specifically Hololive, and this is almost exclusively a feature of Hololivd except for a single-digit number of circumstances that mirror a similar phenomenon in nijisanjiJP(baseball lmao), is that there is actually a second box around the first box.
The first box is powerful in its own right, and in hololives case it is one of the most powerful tools it has access to in terms of preserving a unified floor as long as the talents and company do a good enough job of maintaining it. The floor will differ per person, because of course this box is made of active and semi-active DD. But each Holo will of course have her own dedicated or mostly dedicated group of viewers forming a floor for her sans-DD, and that floor will of course depend much more on the holo. The DDs however are far more impartial and generally care little about which holo is on(generally)
But those inner box DDs, while they do occasionally drop small tips, are more of a viewership buffer than a reliable source of revnue.
And this is where the over-box comes in. Everyone loves a good celebration, right? An anniversary, hyped up enough to start breaking into the timeliness of the people who "do watch Hololive", except that this far larger group of people who actually rarely tune into normal streams are the type who, after a while away from Hololivd, get caught in the stream of the festive and excitable virtual parade pointing towards what is described as an event, a "special" event, one to get super excited for, which they do since they rarely watch Hololive normally and upon tuning in get greeted with Bololives best attempt at showing off and impressing this much larger group of viewers in the overbox who are now watching
It is is those sporadic viewers who get occasionally wowed that end up being the Japanese who drop the piles and piles of cash. It's one reason among many that large scale extravagant events are oftentimes major goals, especially when it concides with anniversaries and and birthdays and such.
Now, they're not ALWAYS mindless money throwing drones. And with certain holos, there will be enough gachikoi to also end up having them contribute a considerable portion.
But the overall point of this is that, right now, a lot, and I mean a LOT, of JP Holos have their revenue padded not by consistent excellent donations with every stream, but instead end up having an incredibly lopsided distribution where events bring in several times more money than they would have otherwise made in a month.
It's hype money.
And sure, money is money and all, but building a revenue stream based entirely on hype money is and has always been an investors favorite house of cards. For all the supposed danger of a gachikoi audience, businesses around the world have proven just how easy it is for hype money to dry up for often absolutely inexplicable reasons. And once it crashes, the people that relied on it realize that they traded the solid floor they once had for that house of cards, and end up falling at on their ass with no cushion to soften the landing.
But that's just my interpretation. I'll gladly admit that I could be way off base. But tbr basic principle of the migrant DD horde; that much is true without a doubt. It's my extrapolations that I'll freely admit are conjecture and that I speak only for myself.

Marine is obsessed with them among many other members. They're been either smashing or are well on their way to smashing records before their senpai could. They're already the top earners in literally ALL of Hololive for several months in a row. And they're literally moving to Japan now at lightning speed only to further exacerbate the activities they can participate in AND get the motivation boost from finally realizing another one of their dreams.
