The Mel situation was unfair since no one on /vt/ has any idea why she was fired which means the NDA leak couldn't have been that noticeable. Cover showed more consideration for the manager that was stalking her than a first gen Hololive talent. They could have given Mel a suspension but fired someone that had worked there for over 5 years. When management operates like that it does show the downsides of the corpo vtuber system. The memories remain but deleting her channel is a reminder that Hololive is a business where they are selling their customers an illusion.

I know, but that's not the issue here. Anyone leaking company information is a liability, and had Mel not gotten caught, there was always going to be the possibility that she'd keep leaking information. There's also a possibility that she had already talked to multiple people but they've kept their mouths shut.
As much as it sucks that she got fired, it's ultimately a good thing that she got exposed and Cover did the right thing in terminating her.
