The main problem from the viewpoint of an indie is that Nijisanji's CCV bracket is moving down. So the buff, even if it's the empowered version, means less and less. Used to the buff would get you past the 4view mark guaranteed, and potentially up to 2-3k. Traditionally for most agencies the first contract is for a year. That not only protects the corpo but you as well. Think of it as a year long probationary period. You just don't renew.
